HTC EVO View 4G Tablet Gets Honeycomb at Last
18.05.12
If you spent a lot of time setting up your homescreens with personalized widgets, be warned: These will go away when you update to Honeycomb. The EVO View will revert back to the out-of-the-box homescreen layout of Honeycomb. You’ll have to reload your widgets and shortcuts after you update. Sprint also warns that some third-party apps you might have used before on your EVO View might not work with Honeycomb since it is a tablet-specific operating system.
Of course, there are plenty of benefits to the upgrade. Beyond all of the sweet new features in Honeycomb , you’ll now be able to use the HTC Scribe digital pen on all applications on the HTC EVO View, which is useful for signing digital documents. You’ll also get Google video chat and enhanced security features like Sprint Data Link and 3LM.
To get the update, go to your EVO View’s Settings menu. From there go to System Updates > HTC Software Update > Check now. Let us know in the comments if you like Honeycomb so far—or if you preferred Android 2.3 with Sense.
